Informationists Kathryn Vanderboll and Emily Capellari are available to assist with interprofessional education and collaborative practice initiatives within U-M health sciences.
The Michigan Center for Interprofessional Education (C-IPE) encourages the IPE community to leverage the skills of the informationists at the Taubman Health Sciences Library (THSL) for their interprofessional education and collaborative practice scholarly initiatives. What informationists do
THSL informationists engage in a number of research and education efforts, including:
- Advising on the publication process and possible venues for IPE scholarship
- Maintaining the IPE research guide, a centralized location for useful resources related to interprofessional education: https://guides.lib.umich.edu/interprofessional
- Identifying gaps in knowledge for topics of interest to U-M IPE
- Providing one-on-one or group consultations covering topics such as:
- Searching for IPE literature
- Research tools such as citation management, data visualization, and more
- Collaborating on systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and other types of evidence synthesis projects
- Offering guest lectures in IPE courses that involve student research
- Advising on course reading material selection
About the informationists
Kathryn Vanderboll holds a master’s degree in library and information science and has worked at the University of Michigan since 2018. She is a member of the C-IPE Intentional Measurement and Research workgroup, and the Experiential Innovation workgroup.
Emily Capellari has a master’s degree in library and information science and a bachelor’s degree in allied medical professions. She has worked at the University of Michigan since 2014 and is a member of the C-IPE Educator Development workgroup.
