As the director of the Michigan Center for Interprofessional Education, I feel very honored to have been given this chance to help support advancement in IPE in synergy with other efforts I’m involved in across campus, including the Center for Academic Innovation and RISE. I am getting a better sense of how these efforts can align and propel IPE forward, building a community of practice of education innovators trying to improve health. This will be a “first of its kind” model, and will require a shared vision, community-building, and problem-solving. I’m convinced there’s no other place that can do this than here at the University of Michigan!
We are now working to collectively define the specifics of our path forward. This will take time, but I am optimistic because of our incredible people, and because there is so much at stake here – the health of our communities.
Go Blue!
